Business in Calgary featured Bilal Hydrie on its cover under the headline "Something Ventured, Much Achieved," tracing the success of Inclusive Energy from a single idea to a Western Canadian oilfield equipment platform.
The feature follows Bilal from Pakistan to Canada, through his studies at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) and into the oil and gas industry, where he identified a gap in the drilling and completion sector and built Inclusive Energy as a one-stop shop for oilfield equipment, financing, and fabrication.
Starting with a $50,000 investment, Bilal struggled to get the company off the ground before landing its first deal with TransAlta. Inclusive Energy later expanded into a subsidiary of the Habib Group, with Hasnain Habib joining as a director and mentor.
By the end of 2014 the company had grown to $35 million in assets, with equipment yards in Red Deer, Lloydminster, and Edson, and storage tanks ranging from 100BBL to 3000BBL.
